DiarySunday 14th November 2004Yesterday The AirMaster did not buy a tripod, see 'Breaking News' item 13th November. Today The AirMaster and his Beautiful Assistant went for a walk on Brierley Forest Park with their dog. The AirMaster took some photographs (see below) and collected some fallen leaves, of which there were surprisingly few although still too many to collect them all! Perhaps others had been collecting them before, or perhaps the wind had blown them away. The weather was very pleasant. This evening the Airmaster and his Beautiful Assistant dined at Teversal Grange, which is in Teversal, near the Teversal Trail Visitor's Centre. Before The AirMaster and his Beautiful Assistant ate, The AirMaster went to the bar to purchase some cigars. When the bar person (barmaid) rang the item in the till, it displayed 'Roast Potatoes 50p'. The AirMaster has never smoked a Roast Potato! They were joined for the meal by The AirMaster's and his Beautiful Assistant's Handsome Son, The AirMaster's sister in law, her son (The AirMaster's nephew) and his girlfriend (partner, significant other). Both The AirMaster's Beautiful Assistant and her sister are significant mothers! They had chosen to have the carvery, and the wait was not too long. However, the list of two red wines on the wine list was reduced significantly when The AirMaster's Beautiful Assistant was told that the Beaujolais Villages was off! So they settled on a bottle of Shiraz. The meal itself was disappointing but cheap. Everything on the plate was almost cold apart from the gravy and broccoli, and The AirMaster made this clear to the waitress after the meal. Even though the carvery course only cost £4.99 The AirMaster expected it to be hot! This was all very surprising to The AirMaster, as he, his Beautiful Assistant and, on one occasion, his Handsome Son and his Handsome Son's Pretty Partner (girlfriend, significant other), spent three very pleasant evenings there during Euro 2004, and each time the meals were hot, tasty, and excellent value. One of the Photographs: (The AirMaster will be creating a Gallery of photographs of Brierley Forest Park as soon as he has figured out how the software works! If he can get it to work, you too will be able to post your photographs there too!)
This is the Brierley Forest Park Visitor's Centre. (As you can see, The AirMaster is a highly accomplished point and clicker!) |
